Nice find! It’s mighty pretty in gold yes, and the above poster is right. As I recall, this adaptor was intended for connecting multiple guitar pedal effects on a pedal board together. The effects were mounted to a pedal effects board, and that’s why the adaptor is hard and not ‘wired’. It was also a space saver, so the pedal board could be smaller, for touring ease. Wired versions took more space. Also, one major correction: I think it should be pointed out that the adaptor in the image is a TS (tip, sleeve) adaptor, and not a TRS (tip, ring, sleeve) adaptor, as it’s cited above. :) The two are very different in their usages.
They were commonly used for connecting multiple electric guitar effects pedals together.
